Staying Motivated in The Gym

  • Consider Convenience
    • Find a gym that is convenient in terms of location for you.
    • The hardest part of working out is actually getting to the gym. Remember a one hour workout is only 4% of your day.

  • Do What you Enjoy
    • Choose workouts/classes that you enjoy and make you feel good about yourself.
    • Examples: Zumba, Piloxing, Yoga, Pilates, ect…

  • Gym Buddy
    • Having a workout partner can really help when your feeling unmotivated.
    • Your partner can be there to push you when needed. You can design workouts to complete together.

  • Set Goals
    • Take small steps
    • Keep in mind that it’s easier to implement a behavior and lifestyle change by doing it one step at a time.
    • Write your goals down, keep a journal with short term and long term goals.
    • Set attainable goals that are realistic for your situation and body.

  • Schedule it in
    • Have a positive mindset
    • Make time for working out no matter what, write it down and put it somewhere where you will see it to remind you to get up and go instead of saying tomorrow.
    • You’re better off going to the gym for just 30 minutes than daydreaming or dozing off and saying ill go later. Every little bit counts.

“Life takes on meaning when you become motivated, set goals and charge after them in an unstoppable manner”
